I might be crazy, but I’m going on a 10-day juice fast where I will only consume fresh vegetable and fruit juice during that time. I was inspired by the 2011 hit documentary Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead. In the movie, Joe Cross, travels to the U.S. from Australia to embark on this experiment. At the beginning he weighs in at 309 pounds and plans to do a juice fast for 60 days. He lives in New York for the first 30 days and then spends the next month traveling around the states and introducing people to the benefits of juicing. It’s truly an inspiring tale and I encourage you to check it out. (You can watch it for free on Hulu or Netflix)
Now, while I am no where near as out of shape or overweight as Joe, I do feel like my body could use a fresh start. So what better time than the New Year, right? I actually think this would be much easier to attempt in the summer, when it’s nice and warm and I’m not spending so much time inside (only feet away from my kitchen at any point of the day), but I don’t want to wait that long. So as part of my New Year’s resolution to do one personal challenge a month, I am starting with a 10-day juice fast.
