30 for 30 recap – days 13 – 18

February 22, 2012, In: personal experiments

I have a confession to make. No, I have not cheated and worn more than 30 items. The truth is, I have not been taking pictures every day. Yikes!

I’m not sure why that’s the most difficult part for me, but perhaps it’s because I am lacking a good location for fashion photography (as if that’s what we can call this – ha!). We don’t even have a full length mirror!?! Something I definitely want to remedy soon.

It’s just a hassle to set up and take photos. I bring the ottoman into our bedroom, turn on every stinkin’ light, let them “warm up”, move some of the lamps around (be careful not to knock anything off the shelf), and get the right distance from the mirror so that you can see some of my face in the photo (a process that always takes some trial and error). No wonder I don’t want to do it everyday.

Then it hit me…why not set up a photo shoot and capture a bunch of looks at once? That way I only need to set up one time. Pretty cleaver huh?

So here are the results from my week 3 photo shoot that spans Monday, February 13th through Saturday, February 18th.

Day 13 – Pretty casual Monday. I wore my gray jeans, white long sleeve shirt, coral 3/4 sleeve shirt, cream tennis shoes, black watch, and ponytail.

30 for 30 challenge - Day 12

Day 14 – Valentine’s day! We had mellow plans at home, so there was no need to get dressed up fancy. I wore my skinny jeans, gray t shirt, black cropped sweater, black uggs, and black accessories.

30 for 30 challenge - day 14

Day 15 – We went snowboarding again so I played hooky on the challenge. However, here’s a photo of me on the slopes at Keystone.

Day 16 – There was a happy hour planned with the Startup Women group that I belong too. Both of the places we went to were a bit warm and I wish I had layered better. I wore my skinny jeans, brown boots, purple sweater, and white tank top (which is a bit see through so I could not remove my sweater at happy hour).

Day 17 – My birthday! We went to a fabulous concert with great friends and I shared with you my one word goal for 2012. I wore my skinny jeans, aqua t-shirt (elegantees), cream blazer, brown boots, and silver accessories.

Day 18 – I had plans for brunch with a friend so I wanted to dress a bit cuter than most Saturdays. I wore my gray jeans, gray waffle sweater, blue tank top underneath, cream tennis shoes, brown and blue necklace, and black watch.

Of course, my birthday outfit was my favorite this week. How about you?

I LOVE my grey jeans! Plus, they're from 7 For All Mankind so they fit me really well. I've made the mistake of buying some different brands in the past year and they never fit me like these. Their more expensive, but I wear them all the time. Totally worth the investment!

You are so photogenic! I have had the same fashion photography issues, lighting, do I look weird, etc…we are almost done with the challenge…my other clothes have missed me.

Thank you! I've made sure to have fantastic posture in these photos…no leaning into one hip and I try to keep it all tightly squeezed in the appropriate places. It's amazing how much better I look when I'm not slouching. Ha!
