I have gotten some unexpected surprises while doing the 31 Days to Build a Better Blog challenge with the SITS Girls. The best is finding some new bloggy buddies. I’ve had such fun getting to know these women online and through their written words. Who knew you could be friends with people you’ve never really met? Their support during this challenge has been so great! And I hope I have been able to offer them some support too.
Another unexpected surprise was being nominated for the 7×7 blog awards! And not just once, but twice! I’m attributing that to the fact that we are forming a small family in our blogging group and I jumped at the chance to connect with as many bloggers as possible. Both of the nominations are from wonderful ladies.
If I tagged you, I’d love to for you to participate. Here’s what you have to do….
Number 1. Thank the person who nominated you.
Kara, It has been so much fun connecting through the 30 for 30 challenge. I love seeing the outfits you are creating each day. You might make me a fashionista yet!
Brie, I love reading about your life. You’ve got a great balanced feel about your blog. I love how you touch on different topics and weave them together.
To both of you, I am so happy to have met you thorough the SITS31DBBB challenge this year. I know we have never met, but I feel like we are friends. I enjoy learning about you through what you choose to share on your blog and look forward to continued support of each other. Thank you for this nomination and for reading my blog!
Number 2. Share 7 things about yourself.
Number 3. Share 7 of your blog posts that fit into the following categories…
Most beautiful: Our Mexican Wedding Adventure!, Wedding Videos, & Our 1 Year Anniversary – I mean, duh…it’s my wedding. How can it not be the most beautiful? Of course it’s all because of the gorgeous photos and videos taken by our friends Megan and Brian.
Most Popular: Our DIY Dining Table – The DIY Couch post was by far my most popular, but since I already listed it as my most helpful, I’m going with the second most popular according to Google Analytics.
Most Controversial: I Believe… – This is not really controversial, but I did start to write about some of my opinions with this post.
Most Surprisingly Successful: How to Cut Glass at Home – I did this craft super quick one night because I wanted a DIY to post. It got re-pinned a ton on Pinterest and brought me the most traffic in one day.
Most Underrated: Rustic Tomato Tart – I wrote this post before I was really familiar with link parties and it did not see much attention. But, boy was it yummy!
Most Pride Worthy: Life and Everything Else – This was the post I wrote about Brett and I making the decision to pack it all up and move to Iowa to be with his family while his dad fought melanoma. It’s not a particularly good post, but I am proud that when it really came down to it, we put family first. A lot of people say it, but we showed that we meant it. Brett’s dad passed away just over two months after we got there. It was very hard, but I would make that move again in a heartbeat.
Number 4. Nominate 7 other bloggers.
I can’t wait to see what all of you share!
