Last week I shared this DIY project in a guest post at Renewed Upon a Dream. It was my first guest post assignment and I had so much fun. If you haven’t yet, you should definitely check out Sarah’s blog.

I wanted to share it here too in case you missed it and with Easter coming up, you might be looking for a quick, last minute way to add some cute decorations to your home.

I love the look of silhouettes and how simple shapes can add just the right touch without going overboard. In fact, I use this same idea at Valentine’s day with this simple cutout heart pillow. But, I realize that not everyone likes to sew so I changed it up a bit.

This project is so easy anyone can do it. It’s framed silhouette art that is perfect for spring and Easter. Isn’t it cute and sophisticated all at the same time?

Easter Silhouette Artwork

So, let me show you how I made it so you can too. I found free Easter shapes I liked online and copied them into Photoshop to size them properly. (If you like the ones I chose, I’ve made them printable and saved them at the bottom of this post. All you have to do is download and print.)

Then I printed them out on natural paper, measured them and cut them down to size.

After they were cut to size, I played around with the placement and decided I liked the eggs best in the middle because they were the widest and gave balance to the piece.

Then I paired it with some colorful plastic eggs and placed it on our mantle.

One of my favorite things about this piece is that it will go with everything!

I think the Tiffany candy dishes help make the plastic eggs look a little more sophisticated too. Am I right? And as promised, here are the printables for each of the silhouettes. They are sized to 5″ x 7″.

I love how this turned out & think it adds just enough pop for the coming season!

What do you think? How are you decorating for the spring and Easter?

I love this! I started using plastic eggs last year to decorate because I have 8 million of them. I agree that putting them in something a bit more sophisticated makes them a little prettier! :) Thanks for sharing the printable, also.
