It’s that nifty time of year again when we get to celebrate the amazing men in our lives. Father’s Day is around the corner!
Whether you’re thanking your dad for always being there for you or your husband for being awesome with your children, you want to make sure to show them how much you care. But this year, instead of settling for the standard tie, golf balls, or cologne, why not get them something as unique as they are?
That’s where Uncommon Goods comes in. I was lucky enough to receive a couple of gifts from them for the great men in my life. One of the things I love about blogging is getting the opportunity to work with cool companies. But I make the promise to only write about things I really love and feel good enough about to share with my readers.
In case you’re not familiar with Uncommon Goods, they are a privately owned retailer located in Brooklyn, New York. It’s the go-to place for something cool and unique – just like Dad. Not only will you love the range of options, but almost half of what they sell is made by hand and most of what they carry is made in the USA. As someone who runs a small business and has been crafty all my life, I appreciate that Uncommon Goods supports the creative integrity of individuals. It’s nice to buy gifts that make my conscience feel good.
While browsing, this slate cheese board immediately caught my eye. Brett and I talked about getting one of these ages ago, but that “selling all our stuff and traveling around the world” thing kept us from getting one before. It was worth the wait as this cheese board is lovely. I love how the slate is sourced from the owner’s third-generation family quarry in upstate New York. How cool is that? It comes with soapstone chalk, so you can write on the board, and a burlap sack to store it in.
And it’s even more beautiful with a delicious cheese spread on it.
I have to tell you it was really hard to choose from all of the cool gift ideas so I keep going back through the Uncommon Goods pages and pinning more fun stuff so I’ll have ideas for next year.
Once I found something for my husband, I turned my attention to my own dad. You see, he is really hard to shop for. He’s not techie, doesn’t drink, and is retired meaning there are no more ties to buy. So, when I spotted this artisan iced tea set, I was thrilled!
There are 3 distinct flavors to try. I hope he will share so that I can try the Peg Leg Pineapple made with yerba mate tea. Yummy! And when I ordered the tea, I did not know I would get this cute little button…
When you support Teakoe, you are also helping the bee population. I know bees can be scary, but I watched the documentary, Vanishing of the Bees not too long ago and can honestly say that a world without bees would be disastrous. This way I can do my part without having to get close to any live bees.
If you’re still looking for a Father’s Day gift for your dad or husband you probably can’t go wrong looking through their online shop. Who has time to actually go to a physical store these days?!? There are some really cool personalized gifts here, a pretty great selection of gifts for dad here, and gifts better suited to your husband here.
Do you have a Dad or husband that are difficult to shop for like I do? I’m so happy to have a better gift option this year and can’t wait to see if the awesome men in my life are as excited as I am.
