How Would You Describe Yourself?

If someone were to describe you, what words would they use?

I have been thinking about this a lot lately as my family has been living in another country for the past 6 months, and have been traveling for almost a year. When you immerse yourself in a different culture, even another western one, you become amazingly aware of things that you took for granted and the stereotypes of the new land.

Take Germany and Switzerland for example. We have been in Munich since November and have good friends in Switzerland so we’ve visited there several times. Both places are known for their efficiency. Things are expected to run smoothly and “like a Swiss watch”. For the most part this is true.

The German people love rules and order. They appreciate when people and things, like the train, are on time. And I know that the bus we catch for kindergarten each weekday morning will be at the stop every ten minutes on the 5’s.

But, the German people also know how to relax. They love the park and biergartens. When the weather is nice, the biergartens are filled with families and friends enjoying each other’s company. Children get to play longer as school does not begin until they are 6 years old (don’t try to all anything before elementary school, “school”, because it will just confuse things).

Efficiency and relaxation. That’s how the Capsule Lifestyle works.

With a Capsule Lifestyle, you focus on four main areas of your life – your home, style, meals, and time. These four areas have the biggest influence on your life as they impact you on a daily basis. Through minimalism and living with a “less is more” mindset you can become more efficient, relaxed, and energized. Here’s how…

A Capsule Lifestyle Give You More Time

A Capsule Lifestyle gives you more time because you know what to expect and what to do next. When you live in a more minimalist home, you spend less time cleaning. When you have a capsule wardrobe, you spend less time choosing your outfits in the morning. When you cook from capsule meal plans, you spend less time grocery shopping. And when you capsulize your time, you are able to get more done with increased productivity.

All of this adds up to more time for you. Use this newfound time to do something that makes you happy or helps you relax. Spend the day with family or friends instead of cleaning your home. Enjoy a cappuccino while reading a book instead of languishing in your closet trying to find something to wear. These minutes add up and help you become more calm and confident everyday.

A Capsule Lifestyle Cuts Down on Decision Fatigue

Have you ever gotten to the end of your day and felt exhausted – not from being physically active, but from using your brain so much. Of course, you have. We all have! It’s called decision fatigue. And, it can be detrimental to our lives because we make poorer decisions as the day goes on and we get tired.

That’s another amazing benefit of a Capsule Lifestyle – you cut down on the number of decisions you have to make everyday. Living in a minimalist home where everything in it has a place, means you no longer have to search for your keys when you are running out the door. Dressing with a capsule wardrobe means that anything you pick out of your closet will look good together because of it’s mix and match nature. Cooking with a capsule meal plan means that you can make any of the dinners planned for that week because you’re using the same ingredients. And capsulizing your time means that you focus on the biggest decisions first so that your day will be productive no matter what happens along the way.

Fewer decisions everyday means less stress for you.

A Capsule Lifestyle Makes you More Confident

When you consciously think about the life you want to live and the things that matter most to you, it makes you more confident in yourself. You determine what makes you happy and surround yourself with only those things.

Sure you may be living with less, but you love everything you are living with. The standard way of living includes opening your closet and being filled with stress or dread because it’s full of clothes you don’t love and you have nothing to wear. With a Capsule Lifestyle, you open your closet in the morning and not only love the clothing you see, but know you will look great because you’ve only kept your favorite items. It’s a big boost to your confidence and that carries with you throughout the day.

What will you be able to do when you are confident enough to take on the world?

Living a Capsule Lifestyle puts you in the driver seat. You choose what you want in your life and it makes it easier to say no when something does not fit with the life you want to live. It’s time to say goodbye to chaos and hello to the gift of a calm, confident life.

I have added a few more freebies to the library over the past couple weeks. Be sure to check them out and download them. I’d love to know what you think and what you’d love to see more of.
