I Was Terrified to Send This Email

This is the Little Green Bow Community Newsletter from 2.23.19.

How’s your week going? Can you believe it’s almost the end of February? I was terrified to send this email because I am going to be vulnerable and tell you some things I was not proud of in my recent past.

But, first things first…hi there! It’s me, Deanna from Little Green Bow. You probably don’t remember me because I haven’t sent you an email in a long time.

But, you signed up for my list somewhere along the way – possibly when I posted about how to make a DIY couch, a DIY reading canopy, or a free printable like this morning routine checklist.

I want us to be friends, but you’ll only be comfortable telling me about yourself if you know something about me and what you’ll get from Little Green Bow as I make some changes. 🙂

Yes, there will still be some DIY things, but less woodworking and more about creating a lovely home, happy family, organized life, and fulfilling your purpose.

Do you ever have those days when you feel like you are just going through the motions? I know how it is because I used to feel that way too. Weekdays felt like an endless cycle of just existing. I felt like I was resigned to a life of routine and mediocrity. Most mornings became a shouting match as everyone was always running 10 minutes behind and being late is a huge stressor for me.

Weekends weren’t much better. I was not proud of who I had become.

All I wanted was to feel in control of my life and like my old self again. Does that make sense?

So, what did I do? I dove into learning how to find my purpose, parent in a positive way, live with less clutter, organize it all, and find more joy.

Since then, I quit my job, my family traveled extensively around Europe for 6+ months at a time (twice!), I have become a much more present and happy mama, our home is in order and organized, we have a family capsule wardrobe which allows us to travel with carry-on luggage only (even for the long trips!), and I am happy to be able to blog every day.

We are currently living in Germany, just to soak up a different culture and learn a new language. It’s night and day from where I was just a short while ago when I would cry on my lunch break about how much I hated my job.

Now I am not suggesting you quit your job – at least not yet. But, I am hoping that the lessons I share on Little Green Bow will help you live the life you have been dreaming about (and if that includes being financially able to quit your job someday – great!).

This is what you can expect from me and Little Green Bow.

I want:

  • You to realize that you are an AWESOME MAMA! Just because we want our lives to be better does not mean we are not awesome already. We just want to improve and that’s totally cool.
  • You to love the life you are living.
  • You to love your home and feel like it is the perfect retreat for you and your family.
  • You to have the happy family of your dreams with kids that you and others love spending time with.
  • You to feel organized in all areas of your life, not just with your physical stuff, but mentally too.
  • You to realize that you are able to do anything you put your mind to.
  • You to create the life of your dreams starting today.

I hope this sounds interesting and you want to be friends. My goal, and purpose, is to help you get the awesome life you want and deserve.

Comment below and let me know what an awesome life means to you. What do you want me to help you with?

If this does not seem like the right fit, I promise I will not be offended if you unsubscribe. I will miss you, but want you to find your tribe that fits you best and it’s okay if it’s not with me.

P.S. I recently created a 7-day decluttering challenge. Yes, I know there are lots of these out there(!), but I found that starting with my home and physical surroundings was the best way to get back some control over my life.

This challenge is different than your run-of-the-mill challenge because it starts with a strong foundation built on a clear understanding of the ideal life you want to live. It’s less about getting rid of your things and more about keeping only the things that will help you create the awesome life you’re longing for. You can sign up for the 7-day decluttering challenge here.
